Khi mô tả mức độ thay đổi, ta thể sử dụng cách diễn đạt V + Adv” hoặc cách diễn đạt “Adj + N":
Ex：From 1980 to 2020, the number of people playing video games decreased slightly.
Ex：From 1980 to 2020, there was a slight decrease in the number of people playing video games.
Ex: The figure in August increased dramatically, at approximately 5000.
Ex：There was a dramatical increase in August, at approximately 5000.
Ex：Overall, the total population of this place increased stably.
Ex：Overall, there was a stable increase in the total population of this place.
Vì các giá trị số phải được mô tả thường xuyên trong bài viết nên thí sinh cũng cần biết cách thay thế phân số và tỷ lệ phần trăm một cách chính xác.
Tất cả chúng ta đều biết rằng "increase" có nghĩa là tăng lên, vậy điều gì sẽ xảy ra với ý nghĩa của nó khi các giới từ khác được thêm vào sau nó? Nếu không hiểu rõ sự khác biệt sẽ dễ bị nhầm lẫn và mất điểm trong khi thi, bạn phải tránh sai lầm này trong khi thi nhé.
Ex：Starting with the production of and demand for steel, 4000 million tonnes were produced in January and then the amount increased to 5000 million before dropping back to the January figure in March.
Ex：The number of people watching TV and movies increased from 1980 to 2020.
Ex：The per unit area yield of ginned cotton has increased by 10% over last year.
Ex：The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.
Khi gặp các biểu đồ biến động, bạn sẽ thường thấy dữ liệu trong câu hỏi không chỉ liên quan đến quá khứ và hiện tại mà còn liên quan đến tương lai. Khi chúng ta mô tả các xu hướng trong tương lai, nếu chúng ta chỉ sử dụng “will” thì giám khảo sẽ đánh giá bạn có vốn từ vựng hạn chế và không đạt điểm cao. Vậy chúng ta có thể dùng từ nào khác để mô tả xu hướng trong tương lai?
Ex：The number of people doing woodwork increased by about 10 from 1980 to 1990 and suddenly increased to 200 people in 2000. After that, it has steadily decreased, and this trend is predicted to continue until 2040.
