Bài mẫu tham khảo IELTS Writing task 2: Should a job with better professional qualifications earn more money?
You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Professional workers like doctors, nurses and teachers make a greater contribution to society and so should be paid more than sports and entertainment personalities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Write at least 250 words.

Professional athletes and entertainment celebrities are often considered to be overpaid, and their value overrated, especially when compared with people working in some socially significant professions, such as medical and education field. Some people argue that the latter should be paid more, because of their contribution to society. I personally agree and believe that the average annual earning of professional workers should be higher than that of people working in sports and show business.
It is easy to justify why professional workers deserve a higher salary at large. Take teaching for example, which is one of the most economically important occupations because our future economy relies on the education of the youth, yet teachers are paid astronomically less than the average professional athlete is. The situation is the same for doctors, police officers, firefighters, who save lives while risking their own for a fraction of what sports stars, actors and singers make. Similarly, people in the military leave their families at home to defend and protect the country knowing they may never return. It's truly a pity that none of these true heroes are given the same recognition by society as athletes and entertainment stars.
I have to acknowledge that becoming pros in sports and show business is not an easy quest, and that it takes a tremendous number of hours of hard work and dedication to earn a job in these fields. It is also undeniable that a number of celebrities have made use of their fame and fortune to influence the society in a positive way, proving their worthiness. However, a large percentage of sports and entertaining stars fail to justify the fame and fortune unfairly bestowed upon them. Instead, many take it for granted, overlooking the fact that they are public figures whose behaviors and beliefs would project tremendous power over the public, especially the young generation. Some go to extremes or become law breakers, such as using illegal substances, in pursuit of financial benefits.
To sum up, the income disparity between professional workers and sporting and entertaining legends is hardly justifiable. While admitting the contribution of a portion of these famous figures, I believe most of them are overpaid and people who work in socially important fields need to have more recognition in financial terms.
