    One time I showed something new to others was during my summer internship last year. I had recently learned how to use a new software program that our team was planning to implement in our office.

    It was around mid-June when I first got acquainted with the software, which was designed to help streamline project management and improve team collaboration. After spending a few weeks mastering its features and functions, I was asked to give a presentation to my colleagues to introduce them to the new tool.

    I demonstrated the software to my team during one of our weekly meetings. To make it easier for everyone to understand, I prepared a short presentation that included a live demo of the software. I started by explaining the key features and how they could benefit our daily tasks. Then, I walked them through a few practical examples, showing how to create tasks, set deadlines, and track progress. I also provided a handout with basic instructions for them to refer to later.

    I felt quite confident and excited about sharing this new tool with my colleagues. It was rewarding to see their interest and engagement as I walked them through the features. I was pleased with their positive feedback and felt that the software would significantly improve our workflow. Overall, it was a great experience, and I was happy to contribute to making our work processes more efficient.

    A time when I showed something new to others was during a science project presentation in my high school class. This happened about six months ago when my class was working on a group project about renewable energy.

    Our group decided to create a model of a solar-powered car. After researching and building the model, we were eager to present it to the rest of the class. I was the one who took on the role of explaining how the solar car worked.

    During the presentation, I demonstrated how the solar panels on the car absorbed sunlight and converted it into electrical energy to power the motor. I used a simple explanation and a few visual aids, like diagrams and charts, to make the concept easier to understand. I also let my classmates have a hands-on experience by allowing them to try out the car and see it in action.

    I felt really excited and a bit nervous while showing the solar car to my classmates. It was important for me to make sure everyone understood how the technology worked and why it’s beneficial. Seeing my classmates’ reactions—some of them were really impressed and curious—was very satisfying. It felt great to share something I had worked hard on and to see it spark interest among my peers.     1. How can young people be motivated to learn new things?

    Well, in my opinion, motivating young people to learn new things often starts with making the learning process enjoyable. For instance, when young people feel that what they are learning is interesting or has practical value in their daily life, they’re more likely to engage with it. I also believe that encouragement from parents and teachers plays a crucial role. Personally, I find that young people tend to be more motivated when they receive positive feedback or recognition for their efforts. Additionally, giving them a sense of ownership over what they are learning, like choosing their own projects or topics, can help fuel their curiosity.

    From my perspective, children should develop basic social skills before entering school. For example, they should learn how to communicate with others, share things, and cooperate in group activities. Besides that, simple skills like following instructions or being able to focus for short periods are also important. I think these skills make it easier for them to adjust to a school environment. Personally, I didn’t have much experience with academic subjects before school, but having some basic communication and behavioral skills helped me a lot.

Others might prefer to work things out on their own because they feel more independent or they believe they’ll understand better by struggling through it. Personally, I’ve experienced situations where I was hesitant to ask for help because I didn’t want to bother others. But in hindsight, I think asking for help when needed is actually a sign of being a good learner.

For example, adults might focus on specific skills like financial management or professional development, whereas children are more focused on learning basic skills like reading, writing, and social interactions. Another difference is that children are often learning things for the first time, so their learning might be more general, while adults usually learn with a specific goal in mind. In my case, as I’ve grown older, I’ve found that I learn things more purposefully, compared to when I was a child and everything was new to me.

For example, encouraging children to think of solutions when they face small challenges can make them more confident and independent later on. I think these skills are just as important as academic knowledge in shaping a child’s development.

Another important quality is being open-minded, as a good learner should be willing to consider new ideas and different perspectives. Lastly, I’d say resilience is key, because there will always be challenges and setbacks in the learning process, and it’s important to keep going even when it gets tough.
