I reckon that if we make healthy habits more appealing, young people will be more likely to adopt them.

On one hand, I believe the government has a responsibility to promote public health, which could involve measures like taxing sugary drinks or making healthy food more affordable. That said, forcing people to be healthier can be seen as intrusive, and it’s essential to respect personal freedom. My take on this is that a better approach might be to provide incentives for healthy behavior rather than enforcing strict regulations. For example, subsidizing gym memberships or offering discounts on nutritious food could encourage people to make healthier choices voluntarily.
If I had to choose, I’d say a healthy diet might be slightly more important than exercise. The way I see it, what we eat has a direct impact on our energy levels, immune system, and overall well-being. A nutritious diet provides the body with essential vitamins and minerals, which are crucial for long-term health. That said, regular exercise is also vital because it helps with weight management and mental health. But in terms of priority, I’d argue that having a balanced diet lays a foundation for good health, and then exercise can further enhance that foundation.
There are several reasons for this trend. For starters, people today are more aware of health issues and the importance of early diagnosis, so they’re more likely to visit a doctor when something feels wrong. Another factor is the rise of chronic illnesses, partly due to modern lifestyles, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, which require frequent check-ups. What’s more, healthcare technology has advanced, allowing for more specialized treatments and tests that might not have been available in the past. The way I see it, while increased hospital visits may seem worrying, they’re also a sign that people are taking their health more seriously.
