    2. Sample answer

One unique place in my hometown that stands out from the rest is the Lotus Lake, located just a few kilometers outside the city center. It’s a hidden gem that not many people know about, which makes it quite special to me.

What makes Lotus Lake different from other places in the city is its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Unlike the busy parks or commercial areas that are full of people, this lake is surrounded by vast fields of blooming lotus flowers, especially in the summer. The sight of hundreds of pink and white lotus flowers floating on the calm water, with their large green leaves providing a stunning contrast, is truly breathtaking. The air is filled with a subtle, refreshing fragrance from the flowers, and you can often see butterflies fluttering around. It’s a place where you can really escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

I would love to visit this place with my parents because they both enjoy nature and peaceful settings. I think they would appreciate the serene environment and the opportunity to relax away from their daily routines. It would also be a great spot to take some beautiful family photos among the lotus flowers. Alternatively, I could go with a close friend who enjoys photography, as the lake offers plenty of picturesque scenes that would make for amazing shots.

Actually, I have been to Lotus Lake once before, but it was quite a long time ago, and I didn’t get to fully explore the area. I remember being impressed by the scenery, but I didn’t have the chance to share the experience with anyone close to me at the time. That’s why I’m really looking forward to going back, either with my parents or a friend, so I can fully enjoy and appreciate everything the place has to offer. I’m sure it will be a memorable experience, whether it’s for a peaceful walk, a family outing, or simply to take in the natural beauty of the lotus flowers.

    1. What are the differences between big cities and small cities?

Big cities and small cities have quite a few differences. Big cities, like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, are usually more crowded and have a lot more buildings and traffic. They offer more opportunities for jobs, entertainment, and shopping, but they can also be more stressful and noisy. Small cities, on the other hand, are often quieter and less hectic. They have fewer people and less traffic, which can make life feel more relaxed. But there might be fewer job opportunities and less variety in things to do. Small cities can be more community-focused, where people know each other better.

In my hometown, people like to go to local markets and street food stalls because there’s a lot of variety and it’s a good way to enjoy traditional foods. Parks and lakes are also popular spots, especially for families and couples who want to relax or have a picnic. For younger people, hanging out at cafes or shopping malls is common. There are also some cultural sites and temples that people visit, especially during festivals or special occasions. Overall, people enjoy places where they can spend time with friends and family or experience local culture.
