Describe a new law that you want to implement in your country

    • What changes this law has
    • Whether this new law will be popular
    • And explain how you came up with the idea of this law

    2. Sample answer 1

In my country, Vietnam, I strongly advocate for the implementation of a new law aimed at ensuring the safety of motorbike commuters by regulating the quality of helmets. Currently, while there is a law mandating the wearing of helmets when riding a motorbike, there is a lack of enforcement regarding helmet quality standards. This has led to a proliferation of low-quality helmets in the market, which offer inadequate protection in the event of an accident.

My proposed new law would mandate that all helmets meet a specific standard of quality and safety. This standard would encompass factors such as impact resistance, durability, and overall effectiveness in protecting the wearer's head in the event of a crash. Helmets that fail to meet these criteria would be deemed illegal for use on public roads.

Furthermore, the enforcement of this law would involve heavy penalties for individuals caught either not wearing a helmet or wearing a substandard helmet. This would serve as a deterrent and incentivize compliance with the safety regulations, thereby reducing the prevalence of low-quality helmets on the roads.

I believe that implementing such a law is crucial for safeguarding the lives and well-being of motorbike commuters in Vietnam. By ensuring that all helmets meet a minimum standard of quality, we can significantly reduce the risk ofhead injuries and fatalities in motorbike accidents. This not only protects individual riders but also contributes to the overall safety of our transportation system.

Additionally, promoting the use of high-quality helmets fosters a culture of safety consciousness among motorbike riders, encouraging them to prioritize their own well-being and that of others on the road. Ultimately, the implementation of this law would lead to safer and more responsible commuting practices, benefiting both individuals and society as a whole.

    3. Sample answer 2

If I could introduce a new law in Vietnam, it would be a mandatory waste separation law to encourage environmental responsibility. This law would require households and businesses to separate their waste into categories, such as recyclables, organic waste, and non-recyclables, before disposal. Currently, waste management in Vietnam faces challenges due to mixed trash, making it difficult to recycle and dispose of efficiently. By enforcing this law, I believe we could significantly reduce pollution, promote recycling, and support a cleaner environment.

Now, regarding the changes this law would bring, it would encourage people to be more mindful of their waste. There could be designated bins for each category, and penalties for non-compliance. Schools and communities could organize campaigns to educate people on how to separate waste effectively. This would not only reduce the amount of waste in landfills but also help in conserving natural resources by boosting recycling efforts.

I think this law would be well-received, especially among younger generations and environmentally conscious people, who are already aware of the importance of sustainable living. However, it may initially face resistance from older generations or in rural areas where waste separation practices are unfamiliar. With proper education and gradual implementation, though, I believe this law would gain popularity over time.

The inspiration for this law came from my experiences traveling to countries with effective waste management systems, such as Japan. There, I saw how organized waste separation can contribute to a cleaner and healthier society. I thought it would be a beneficial practice for Vietnam as well, given our growing concerns about environmental pollution.

In summary, a waste separation law could be a powerful step toward a greener Vietnam. With awareness and cooperation, I’m confident that people would embrace this change for the benefit of future generations.
